The genre we have chosen for our two minute opening sequence is romantic comedy other wise known as rom-com. We chose rom-com because the opening sequences are nearly always unique to each film because rom-coms don't give the plot away as much as a thrillers do. The opening scenes of a thriller usually give the audience an idea of what the film is about and who the main characters are, rom-coms however don't give the plot away because there are often lots of twists and turns in the plot. The main characters are often not introduced straight away.
